Johnstown

Johnstown is located just a few miles north of New Albany and State Route 161. Because of its proximity and easy commute to Columbus, it is a rural community that is quickly growing. Downtown Johnstown features charming brick buildings, a town square that hosts community activities, small shops, businesses, and restaurants. There are also a few parks in Johnstown for the community to enjoy. The most popular parks are Mastodon Preserve, the site of a 1926 Mastodon discovery, and Johnstown Trailhead Park. Johnstown Trailhead Park has a dog park, shelter house and parking lot for the TJ Evan’s bike trail that runs from Johnstown to Newark. There are a variety of housing types in Johnstown, from farms & homes on acreage, to newer homes in developments & older historic homes lining Main St. in downtown. Johnstown residents have great pride in their school district and growing community.
